TRG Employee Spotlight on Kim Dunn

TRG Graphic Designer Kim Dunn joined us full-time in November 2022 after freelancing with our firm since 2009. We recently sat down with Kim for a conversation about her career, her family, and the one item she simply cannot live without.

You earned your degree in graphic design from UW-Milwaukee. What are the special skills that you bring to your job?

“I have 11+ years of experience with heavy illustration-based design and project management. I also have “designer ESP” so I can translate what people are asking for into thoughtful designs efficiently.  If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years about design, it’s to keep it fun. When in doubt, add a cat.

“I love accomplishing goals and checking things off my to-do list. Tasks and priorities change from day to day, so staying on top of my email helps me stay organized. I make sure I follow up with everyone that reached out during the day, so no one is waiting on a response from me to keep things moving forward. Anytime I finish the day and feel like I got a lot of quality work done, I am happy.”

What do you enjoy most about working at TRG?

“It’s definitely the people. My colleagues are smart, talented, and down-to-earth. I’m excited I get to work with them every day now.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

“I love spending time with my family, which includes my husband, Jeremy, my children Colton (8) and Callie (5), Bacardi, Cricket and Bugs our cats, and our dog, Benji. I enjoy going on vacations together. Our favorite spot is Disney World. It truly is the most magical place on earth. Experiencing new things with the ones you love the most is simply the best.”

Finally, answer the “Fast Five” about your personal favorites:

Superpower“Teleportation. Imagine the possibilities if travel time didn’t exist?”
