Excalibur Seasoning, Co. is America’s premier provider of meat & seafood seasonings, rubs, and marinades. Their reputation is built on the legendary quality and royal flavor found in each and every product they offer. For more than 35 years, they have partnered with hundreds of grocers and meat processors nationwide to provide quality, flavorful blends that resonate with their target audiences and help transform their protein business.
CHALLENGE
Excalibur came to TRG Marketing in need of a facelift. While their reputation in the marketplace remained strong, their brand had become at best non-descript, and at worst dated to the point of costing them potential business. They needed help revitalizing their brand visuals and messaging and bringing them to the forefront of the industry.
SOLUTION
TRG conducted a comprehensive review of the seasoning industry, including a psychographic investigation of Excalibur’s target audiences and an evaluation of their primary competition. From there, a brand guide was created to add a measure of consistency and professionalism to Excalibur’s brand identity and messaging. The rebranding also included a newly styled and modernized logo and a representative icon.
RESULTS
Armed with a refreshed brand and set of guidelines for execution, Excalibur carried the new brand through a variety of customer-facing marketing initiatives – including a new website and social media presence, an electronic newsletter, an annual magazine, a comprehensive advertising campaign, and new product labeling. As a result, Excalibur’s brand has become one of the most recognizable in the industry, scoring high marks for memorability and impact and helping them achieve record sales.
