The American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) is a professional society whose members include the world’s most prolific and respected golf course designers. TRG Marketing serves ASGCA in a number of ways, from PR to membership application administration. Most visible to the client, however, is how various TRG members collaborate to plan meetings and professional development for the group.
Since the first Annual Meeting TRG planned for ASGCA in Pebble Beach, Calif., in 2005, through a visit to the Home of Golf in St. Andrew’s in 2008, and more recently with study tours of some of the most iconic layouts on New York’s Long Island and throughout Australia, TRG has planned every aspect of meetings for the group. It’s imperative that TRG have an eye for value and efficiency, booking venues that function well for this discerning association of people who travel for a living. Additionally TRG works closely with ASGCA members to identify the critical professional development programs so as course designers they may continue providing the golfing public with great playing experiences. Speakers are then booked and educational programs are planned that allow ASGCA members to continue to succeed in the golf architecture profession.
Post-meeting surveys show members are very satisfied with the quality of events; satisfaction surveys point to well-planned and well-run meetings and education being the top reasons behind ASGCA’s better than 95 percent member retention rate.
