Strategic planning leads to record-setting media coverage and web traffic

Overview

The Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) is a not-for-profit, global trade association that seeks to advance the industry of control system integration. Control system integrators use their engineering, technical and business skills to help manufacturers and others automate their industrial equipment and systems. The Ritterbusch Group first partnered with CSIA on a research project in 2011, the first step in a marketing, public relations and media relations path that continues today.

Process

Based on the results of that initial research, TRG developed and executed a plan for CSIA to build name recognition and brand awareness. Among the goals was to demonstrate to end users the value of working with an integrator who is “CSIA certified.” This was accomplished through national and international media relations, creation of new and updated content for the CSIA website, development and design of a Marketing Toolbox for CSIA members, development and execution of targeted online advertising, an expanded social media presence, and TRG presentation at an international conference.

Results

CSIA membership has increased and traffic to the website is at record levels. Articles on CSIA and its members have appeared in numerous publications, meeting and exceeding the initial goal of increased name recognition. Online ads have further improved CSIA brand awareness and the value of industry certification.

With a keen focus on raising awareness for CSIA, we’ve positioned the association as the “go-to” source for control system integration. Now, industry editors reach out to us for story ideas and interviews. There is an incredible trust and respect that we can deliver to them.
